The village of Gabarus features some incredible waves!
During the 1745 siege of Fortress Louisbourg, the British came ashore here and transported their canons
overland to invade from behind the fortress whose guns were aimed at the harbour.
This proved to be the deciding factor in Britain's triumph over France in the New World.
