So many great songs about Country Roads; in this case, when I see this, I hear James Taylor’s song of the same title.
This is a very short walk from where Guglielmo Marconi lived while conducting his experiments in radio transmission,
in the late Nineteenth and early Twentieth Centuries. The house in which he lived still stands, but is privately owned.
His first successful wireless signal was sent across the Atlantic from nearby Glace Bay in December of 1902.
