MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY NEW YEAR, AND FUTURE PLANS.

Looking forward since behind is gone.

Today is Christmas Day, 2024. A week from today we will awaken on the first day of 2025 with an extra four minutes of sunlight. The days are getting longer!!!

While the weather was great, 2024 was not the greatest year I’ve ever had in Photography. There were AMAZING displays of Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) and Meteor showers, but I was unable to capture any really great images. Either I was in the wrong place, pointed in the wrong direction, or out of focus. Major disappointments all around. More positively though, I bought a Drone and managed to get some exciting video footage and still images. Learning its nuances and getting good at the controls are still eluding me, but I will get more practice in 2025. Living as I do on a windy coastline makes it difficult, but I will be traveling more to calmer regions.

Thanks to a favourable twist of fate, I am able to purchase a small van which I will convert into a Camper. I plan to make it easy to disassemble the Camper components in case I need to return to Van mode, but for the most part, the Camping necessities will remain inside, whether or not they are set up. I don’t need much anyway, since I don’t plan to live in it for extended periods of time; a couple of weeks at most before returning home or dropping in on some relatives. ☺

My website will also be undergoing more changes. My Webmaster, Joel Young, will be waving his magic wand over the circuitry and giving it a few tweaks. Expect to see a few changes within a couple of months. I’ll be adding more images to the Galleries, and possibly eliminating some. My van will make it possible for me to vlog more, or at least add to the video footage I have on my YouTube channel. I realize I’m really weak in that area, and I need to work on it to improve.

Also new to my site will be a “Merch” section. Admittedly, that will be among the last improvements to be made, but it will be coming nonetheless. I’ve managed to find some suppliers to provide T-Shirts, Coffee Mugs, (including travel mugs) Water Bottles, etc. I’ll be holding some contests and prizes will be offered from my Merch, so stay tuned for that!

Some of you may have received a Camera for Christmas… I know at least one of you did, and one did a few years ago. If you think you can learn from me in any way, please return to the top of this page and click the “Contact” button. If nothing else, going as a group to a location is a fun way to form a small community and help each other see things in a different way. (Return van to “passenger” mode) Or I could possible learn from YOU! We can all learn from each other. ☺

And so, I extend Merry Christmas Greetings to you all, and best wishes for a Happy, prosperous and fun-filled New Year of Photography, friends, and good health. As always, I appreciate your thoughts and comments. Until next time, take care, and always carry spare batteries.
